Activities
Our three major community gatherings were started by the Crime Watch Patrol to help bring local Police and Firefighters into the neighborhood as well as to increase socialization amongst the families.
The University Terrace Crimewatch Neighborhood Party began back in the fifties. Some of the original residents are still here today, as well as a handful of second generation residents who have moved back into the neighborhood.

The Fourth of July Kiddie Parade was created by the Mommy's Group to provide a fun way for kids and parents to celebrate. Bicycles, tricycles and wagons are decked out in red, white and blue. The parade travels from the edge of our neighborhood on Trammel rd. to the water park at Ridgewood Belcher recreation center for snacks and refreshments. See News page for 2009 schedule.

The Halloween Gathering was also created by the Mommy's Group as a safe, hassel-free way to allow children to trick-or-treat. Parents line up for about half a block and children run from adult to adult to get their treats and show off their costumes. This gathering is sometimes accompanied by an old-fashioned popcorn popper and a bouncy house, by way of donations generated by the Mommy's Group.
